An Irreversible Social Tale of A Woman Betrayed By Society

She couldn't dream about anything more because she didn't know how to.

Once upon a time there was this beautiful woman who had lots of dreams. 'Dreams' about having a house with her handsome husband who would play with her adorable son while she watches them from the kitchen. She couldn't dream about anything more because she didn't know how to.
Every wedding in her neighborhood would remind her how closer she was to her dream. And the day eventually came when a Lami(Wedding Broker) came with a photograph with a face of a handsome man in it. All she had was a photograph and a binding order from her parents that she should accept the man in the photograph as her man of dream. The reason cited was, "Look at his properties. He will keep you rich." She obliged and she dared and dreamt a future with the man she barely knows. That is the power of the society, they can force you to marry unknown.
On the day of the wedding, someone somewhere at the corner of the wedding hall noticed something which he thought is not worth ignoring, and his observation spread like a wildfire. Her relatives, after being bruised by the observation of the attendants, decided to abruptly discontinue the ceremony.

The hall filled with angry comments, and angry observations overpowered the ceremony. She couldn't help but overhear people saying that her to-be-husband was hardly an adequate man. She then noticed what she had not earlier, and blamed herself for she had failed to observe the apparent mental inadequacy of the man who was supposed to be the man of her supposed dream.
Her mother-in-law, dutifully contributing to the altercation, had her first heart attack inaugurated by the heat of the moment. Everyone started to sympathize the groom as his helpless mother was taken to the hospital. The anger quickly turned into sympathy for his helplessness. After all, we are a social animal most of the time.
It was then unanimously decided by her family and the society that it was too late to call off the wedding. She was quick to remember what her mother said on the day she received the photograph. She remembered how her mother bragged about his assets and the golds he shall bring for her. It was them who then decided without asking more questions--because asking any would handicap their treasure hunt.
The harm was done for the colors of marriage were already exchanged. She had no choice but to promise herself to be strong, to try and love him despite his parents and society's deceitful act. She submitted herself to him and swore to look after him for he still had gold and the land that could buy hundred helping hands. We suddenly turn optimistic when we have no choice.
A year yielded the couple a beautiful son. She was happy that her miseries would finally subside with the arrival of a new member who would divert her attention. Little did she know that diverting the attention also needs an attention. Suddenly she found herself taking care of two babies.
All the deceits she once forgave started to resurface. She remembered how she was cheated to abandon the only dream she was allowed to dream. In spite of being surrounded by two souls she strangely found herself lonely.

The loneliness turned into sadness and her husband became the symbol of trick that society played with her dream. She started to see the future of her son in turmoil for his father was not an enough man. She now was a lonely and a gravely scared memento of an unhealthy marriage; and finally a dreamless woman.

Circumstances introduced her to 'other' handsome man and not in a photograph this time. The 'other' handsome man arrived in her life promising her a deserved closure. The 'other' man who was far more adequate than her imbecile husband embraced her in his arms and promised to love her till the end of his breath. She melted and justified her ongoing affair saying that this society deserved a revenge and she a true love. Happy she was for the man she always dreamt of finally arrived(as an extra marital affair). Sometimes, you have to walk through nightmares to live a dream.

He too was in love and she too was again.
Her child grew up in a strange circumstance. He was growing up in the arms of the hollow created by his father craving for more attention than he did and the agony of his mother avenging the death of her only dream. Nevertheless, he got his share of love for his mother loved her child like a lioness loves her cub, always protective and possessive.
She somewhere knew that a grave flaw was slipping her attention. She chose to ignore and decided to call it love.
She got angrier as the time grew, it is tough to keep up with the society that asks lots of questions if you fall in love, and decided to plot a revenge against her husband's family. She successfully poisoned her old parents-in-laws. She framed her husband for the murder while leaving her brother-in-law tangled in a lawsuit that was to be never resolved. And thus, multiplying fortune for her son's future. She was now happy but strangely not content as the flaw that slipped her attention started overpowering her. She chose to ignore again and decided to freely embrace the love from the 'other' man of her dream. Why chose the truth when lie yields us better?
Society raised fingers and neighbors spoke, but in vain, because she never cared as she remembered how listening to them once ended her up having a misfortuned fate. She could now finally chose to dream any dream she wanted. But all she dreamt was seeing her son marry a beautiful woman who shall give her a grandson to play with. She didn't dream anything more than that, for this time she knew how but couldn't make sense of 'why' she should dream for something more.
The day finally arrived when her son, who dropped out of the high school for he had a higher calling to answer, she explained, came to an age where he could finally create his own family.
The other man, now a technical father found him a beautiful woman to marry.
-----------

On the day of the wedding she sat with her chest held high feeling proud of her son's achievement. She had no relatives to invite. If she could, she would invite them to show them how she built her life despite of all the betrayals they bestowed her.
On the day of the wedding, someone somewhere at the corner of the wedding hall noticed something which he thought is not worth ignoring, and his observation spread like a wildfire.
Her soon to-be-relatives, after being bruised by the observation of the attendants, decided to discontinue the ceremony.
The hall filled with angry comments, and angry observations overpowered the ceremony. She couldn't help but overhear people saying that her son was not an adequate man. She was furious about how quickly the bride's side forgot how rich their daughter was going to be.
She as a result of the heat was abruptly enveloped by a sudden heartache. She was helped out of the hall to an ambulance.
As the ambulance headed towards the hospital she asked herself, "Haven't I lived this somewhere?"
